Welcome to the Official site of the Helmetta Volunteer Fire Department New Jersey.

The Helmetta Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1895, and has been comprised of all volunteer members since1895. The members respond to all types of calls for service twenty-four hours per day, three-hundred sixty-five days per year.

The Five (5) goals of Helmetta Volunteer Fire Department at any Fire incident include rescue of victims, protection of exposures, containment of the fire, extinguishment of the fire and lastly proper and complete salvage and overhaul of the fire.

Helmetta Volunteer Fire Department is only Fire Department that protects the Boro of Helmetta, New Jersey. Our response area is a total of one square miles. The Department is currently made up of Twenty Five Volunteer members that respond out of One Station. We respond to all types of emergencies including but not limited to Structural Fires, Brush Fires, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Extrications, Carbon Monoxide Alarms, Fire Alarms, Search & Rescue, Hazardous Material Incidents, Special Assignment via Tanker Task Force, RIT Assignment, Bush 36-2 6X6 State Wide and Water Rescues.

Mission Statement:

The Mission of the Helmetta Volunteer Fire Department is Preserve Life, Protects the Comunity and Property of the Residents of the Borough of Helmetta.

We assist the Fire Marshall's Office and assist the Fire Marshall in educating the community on prevention of Fires.

Members are always welcome. Anyone interested may stop by the firehouse, located at 62 Main Street any Monday evening. Members are there every Monday beginning at 7:00 PM.
